Visiting Our Buildings

Our are held at several facilities in Washington, D.C., as well as conference centers in California and Massachusetts.

Washington, D.C.

National Academy of Sciences Building

Open to the public 9 a.m. to 5 p.m on weekdays, and closed weekends and holidays

This hosts various symposia, lectures, and that are open to the public. Visitors can see the and explore the building’s interesting art and architectural features during normal business hours.

Keck Center
500 Fifth St., N.W.

Opened in 2002, the Keck Center houses more than 1,000 employees and is a popular site for public meetings. The National Academies Press Bookstore is on the first floor. The building also features  that are open to the public by appointment.


Arnold and Mabel Beckman Center
100 Academy Drive

The is home to several significant programs such as the , the , the , and the . The award-winning conference center is situated on seven acres bordering the cities of Irvine and Newport Beach.


J. Erik Jonsson Conference Center
314 Quissett Ave.
Woods Hole

The is a year-round conference center located on Cape Cod. The historic property provides magnificent views of Quissett Harbor and Buzzards Bay. Meeting space can be reserved by outside groups.
